3 Types of Air Conditioning for Mobile Homes

When you live in a mobile home, there will come a time when the temperatures outside heat up, and you need to cool off. While you can get central air, it isn't always the most convenient option. Here are some alternatives for having air conditioning in your home.

Window Air Conditioner

The first type of air conditioner to consider installing in your mobile home, which also happens to be one of the most widely used for this type of home, is one you put in the window. These are good for just about any budget and are easy to install yourself. The window air conditioner is meant to only cool off the room it is in, but it is not uncommon for it to cool off neighboring rooms as well. You need to place the unit in an open window, which might require installing a ledge where it can sit comfortably. The window unit circulates air so that you feel cool air in that room, much better than what you achieve with a fan. You can also get one with a remote so that you can turn it off and on from the couch or your bed.

Portable Air Conditioner

There is also the option of using a portable air conditioner. These are a little more limited with how much space they cool off at one time. They work similar to a fan, where you simply need to plug it in and turn it on. However, it offers a way to provide you with cool air instead of just blowing the room's air around like with a fan. Portable air conditioners are good when you want to be able to move it around the house when you go to different rooms. They are also affordable, so if you are on tight budget but want more than a fan, this is an excellent option.

Split-System Air Conditioner

A split-system air conditioner requires a little more installation than the other air conditioning systems, but it doesn't require installation of any ducts or vents. There are two pieces to this system, including one piece on the inside of your home and one on the outside. You will feel excellent cool air in your home, which often travels further than the room it is installed in. It is the next best thing to actually having central air conditioning. It is ideal for mobile homes of nearly any size.

How to Hire the Best Contractors and Other Tips

When you are working on a big project, the contractor you choose can have a substantial effect on the success of your project. Hi, my name is Nicole, and after organising a number of substantial remodels, I feel like I really understand the world of contracting. As a result, I decided to start a blog. I love remodeling and decorating -- those are my two biggest passions. And currently, I am thinking about buying an investment property to flip with the help of a contractor whose work I love. Besides remodeling and decorating, I love reading and shopping, and I'm single -- my heart belongs to my pup, Roger.
